Ground Transportation

Highway

Boone County houses three Interstates (I-465, I-65 and I-74), seven State Roads (SR 334, SR 39, SR 32, SR 267, SR 47, SR 75 and SR 38) and two US Roads (US 52 and US 421).

Rail

The state of Indiana has more than 3,000 miles of track operated by Class 1 railroads.

Boone County is served by CSX Transportation. CSX's main, national line is just 20 miles from the nearest switching line (Avon Switching Yard).

Water

Indiana's three modern ports give Boone County businesses access to the Great Lakes, the St. Lawrence Seaway and Atlantic Ocean, and the Mississippi and Ohio river basins.

Indianapolis International Airport is served by 18 airlines that provide direct and nonstop service to over 100 destinations. More than 7 million passengers are served each year.

Federal Express and the US Postal Service Express Mail hubs are located at the Indianapolis International Airport.
